CPT Season 3

Season 3: Bad Ass Poker

See CPT-S3.pdf for chip distributions, blind structures, prizes, and other details.

Welcome to Season 3 of the Chem Poker Tour!

This season, we'll combine some of the best elements from Season's 1 and 2. First, we'll always have a T2000 No Limit Hold'Em (NLHE) Tournament. In addition, the reigning NLHE winner will have a $20 bounty on his/her head, starting with the Season 2 "Tournament of Champions" winner. Whoever eliminates the champ from the previous month's tournament collects the $20 bounty regardless of outcome in the tournament. Note that, if the previous champ repeats, he/she collects his/her own bounty!

The buy-in for each Season 3 tournament is $20, and there is one (1) optional re-buy (for $20) and one (1) optional add-on (for $10) per player, plus a side cash table for those who bust out early or want to hang around later. It is encouraged that you come prepared with extra $$ if you intend to participate in both the NLHE tournament, possible re-buy/add-on, and side cash game. As always, ALL tournaments count in the season (and career) stats! Cash games will NOT count in any CPT standings, so you'll have to keep track of your own winnings/losses on your own...

To add to the fun, CPT Season 3 will undergo some cosmetic upgrades. Check the Photo Gallery or come out in person to see the changes. There will also be a "bad beat of the night" component... except rather than a monetary "jackpot" pay-off for the victim, it will consist of a penalty (i.e. public humiliation, of sorts) for the offender! Details to remain a secret...

Season 3 will end with a "Tournament of Champions" (ToC3) to be held in early 2008. Details will be announced closer to that date.

Don't forget to check out previous seasons' stats, photo gallery, and more at the official CPT web site. Photos and results will be updated no later than the weekend after each CPT event.

In summary, Season 3 events will always consist of a No Limit Hold'em tournament:

  • Buy-in is $20.
  • Starting stack is 2,000.
  • One optional re-buy available until the first break for $20 (2,000 more chips).
  • One optional add-on at the first break for $10 (1,000 more chips).
  • Blind levels are 20 minutes for full tables, and may shorten as tables become short-handed.
  • A "bounty" will be placed on the previous champion's head, starting with the Season 2 "Tournament of Champion" winner.
  • These T2000 NLHE tourneys should take about 4 hours to complete, but may vary depending on number and aggression of participants.
  • A side table will be available for cash ring games (using different chips).

At the side table, players may agree on any fair poker variation and stakes. A non-exhaustive list of examples is provided below:
