Volunteer Youth Mentor. (2006-present)

I volunteer twice-weekly as a mentor to young teens, aged 11-18.

LEAD Uganda Benefit Night

Event Coordinator. (2009)

An initiative that mobilized members of CITYouth and raised over $10 000 for the sponsorship, mentorship, and education of former child soldiers and AIDS orphans in Uganda, through the charity LEAD Uganda.

Victoria University Education and Equity Commission

Co-chair of Equity. (2006-2007)

Worked to raise awareness and discussion on issues, such as the definition of equity. Headed the “What is Equity?” Graffiti Campaign and organized the Spring E&E Lecture Night.

Vic Reach

Volunteer Teaching Assistant. (2006-2007).

Volunteered in math and science classes and afterschool remediation programs at Lawrence Heights Middle School.

Coached the Lawrence Heights Science Olympics team.

Jean Liu - University of Toronto

I am also passionate about being involved in my community. I like to volunteer on a one-on-one basis, working largely with teens, but I’m also interested in raising awareness and support for global-scale problems, such as the recruitment of child soldiers in Uganda, child poverty in Africa, and access to education.
