My research focuses on knowledge, belief, and our capacities to track these states in ourselves and others. I’m interested in the history of epistemology, both in the Western tradition back to Plato, and in the Classical Indian and Tibetan traditions. I also work in contemporary philosophy of mind, with special interests in metacognition and mental state attribution.
Here’s the start of a series of short videos on epistemology that I’ve done with Wireless Philosophy (WiPhi), working with animating philosophers Luke Roelofs and Damian Melamedoff. This is the beginning of a newer series of short videos on Social Cognition, a collaborative exercise with philosophers Mason Westfall and Liang-Zhou Koh, with animation help from Victoria Fang. My 2023 Locke Lectures are available on mp3 here.
