An Evil Lindsey story following Pretty, Pretty Katy.

Unfinished Business
By Imzadi

Lilah Morgan sat on one of the sofas in the lobby of the Hyperion; Lindsey sat on the other end. Lilah tried hard to keep her eyes off his chest, which was revealed by his silk shirt that was unbuttoned to the waist. Vampirism obviously agreed with him; he looked absolutely fantastic. I wish I knew what I looked like, she thought. That's definitely one of the minuses of being a vampire—having no reflection.

It was amazing how comfortable the two of them were together now after they had been such bitter rivals while they worked at Wolfram & Hart. Now, however, they were family, part of Angelus' growing vampire family. She wanted him, but she knew she would never have him. He was with Dee, as they called the former Detective Kate Lockley, and she was with Gunn. Formerly Lindsey had been with Drusilla, but that hadn't lasted long. He wasn't crazy enough for her, as Spike had been, and she was too crazy for him. Lilah, or as they called her now Delilah, liked Gunn and enjoyed him tremendously physically, but they didn't have a lot in common.

"So, Delilah, getting used to being one of the Undead?"

"I wasn't into tanning, so I don't miss the sun a lot. And I certainly don't miss Wolfram & Hart!"

"You and Gunn certainly seem to enjoy playing Maddalena & Sparafucile." Lindsey had made up that little scheme based on the opera Rigoletto. One of the girls would pretend to be a hooker and lure men to a hotel room, where she and her mate would drink them and rob them. Gunn particularly went for it; he loved to dress up like a pimp. Lilah had also enjoyed dressing like a hooker after all those years of proper, albeit too short, attorney clothing.

"You did it with Drusilla, didn't you?"

"Not for long. She'd start one of her crazy little babbles and scare them off. Kate can't do it in case a cop would recognize her. Her disappearance is still in the paper, by the way." No one had reported Lilah missing. She lived alone and had cut all of her ties with her family. Wolfram & Hart would never have wanted the publicity. She wondered who was the new vice president for special projects, the post that had belonged first to Holland, then to Lindsey, and finally to her.

As if he had read her mind, Lindsey said, "You're still a little upset with Wolfram & Hart, aren't you?"

"Especially with good old Nathan. I hated him. Still do, for that matter."

"Join the club. I've always hated him. Remember when he said that we were both expendable? Such a friendly guy. Made me realize just how much I missed Holland."

"I started to despise him later. You know, at the review. . ."

"When he fell to his knees as the Senior Partner materialized? Me, too." Lindsey looked at Lilah with a little bit of surprise. "It would seem that you and I think alike more than either of us realized."

"That's probably why we didn't get along. We were too much alike. Except, of course, you'd draw your moral line before I would."

"Things change."

"Not entirely. I'll bet you still wouldn't hurt a child, would you?"

Lindsey smiled his shy smile, and she knew that she was right. Somehow he still had a few scruples left. "So, Delilah, pet, do you want to take care of our friend Mr. Nathan Reed?"

"Count me in!" She smiled in anticipation. "Do you have a plan?"

"The start of one. Give me a little time to work it out. How are your acting skills?"

"I let Holland think I enjoyed having sex with him. What do you think?"

"Give that girl an Oscar! Okay, we'll do it!"

Later that day, Nathan Reed picked up his cell phone. Someone was calling on his very private line. "Nathan, help me. Quickly. Before they come back," a voice whispered. "Please. They're hurting me."

"Who is this?" He thought he recognized the voice, but he wasn't quite sure.

"Help me, Nathan." The voice was cut off.

"Good job, Delilah," Lindsey could barely get out as he was laughing so hard.

Nathan put the phone down slowly. Was that Lilah? He remembered what Lindsey had said the day he ‘resigned' from the firm. Lilah had files on all of them. "If anything happens to this girl, the Senior Partners will eat you alive!" He knew that what Lindsey had said was true. He pushed a button on his phone. "George, put all the people you can spare onto finding Lilah Morgan."

That night nine people drifted in groups of two and three into a club called The Meet Market. When Angelus and Darla came in, he nodded at his family, locked the door, and turned off the lights. Half an hour later, the door opened and nine well-fed vampires exited, leaving twenty-seven dead bodies behind them.

"Angelus, that was absolutely perfect. Three apiece. I'm quite full now," Darla said as she snuggled up to him.

"I only got two," ‘Delia complained.

"You're always saying I'm too skinny, Delia," Wesley laughed.

"If you're still hungry, Delia, we'll get you some Chinese carryout," Angelus offered. They were passing by a small hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant where one man was working.

"Sounds great," Delia said, and Angelus and Lindsey went in and carried him out for her. Then they all went dancing.

Early the next evening as soon as the sun had set, Lilah, Lindsey, and Gunn headed for a corner near Wolfram & Hart where Nathan would pass by on his way home. As the two former Wolfram & Hart vice presidents knew, he stayed until after the sun had set just to impress the senior partners. Who knew what he did there? As far as anyone knew, he wasn't having sex with any of the associates or secretaries, male or female. Maybe he just played the stock market.

Right on schedule, Nathan's Rolls Royce Silver Cloud pulled out of the Wolfram & Hart parking garage. He didn't notice the motorcyclist behind him who pulled out his cell phone. "Lindsey, he's coming."

"Thanks, Wes." He hung up. "Delilah, Gunn, you're on." Lindsey stepped into the shadows on the other side of the street.

As the limo approached the corner, Lilah, started to run right in front of it, Gunn following her. He grabbed her and started to pretend to struggle with her. Nathan saw what was going on and stopped the car.

"You get back on yo' corner, b***h!" Gunn yelled so Nathan would be sure to hear.

"No, please. I'm not a hooker. Let me go!"

Nathan took the gun out of the glove compartment. "Lilah! Miss Morgan! I'll help you." The thought of shooting both of them crossed his mind. Surely he could find her files and destroy them. He opened the door to the car, aimed at Gunn, and fired. Although he had hit him point blank, nothing happened. Suddenly he was hit from behind by Wes, who had been following on his motorcycle.

Lindsey crossed over to the car and the four of them stood looking at him. Lilah took the gun out of his hand. "Nathan! How good to see you again."

"Miss Morgan? Lindsey? What's going on?" Awareness began to creep over him and the four went into vamp mode together. Nathan reached for the button on the dashboard and Lindsey smacked his hand away.

"That's very unfriendly of you, Nathan. Wes, do you have your knife?" Wes pulled out a Swiss Army knife and handed it to Lindsey. "He has two homing devices implanted in his body and at least one in the car. We don't want them to find him, so. . ."

Lindsey opened the knife and began to make a cut in Nathan's wrist. He pulled out a small device. Then he cut Nathan's shirt open, made an incision just below the breastbone, and pulled out the other. "Here, Wes. Waste not, want not." Wes bent down and began to drink the blood that was seeping from the chest wound while Gunn took the arm. "Don't take too much, though. Lilah and I want to really take our time enjoying him!" Lindsey opened the hood of the Rolls, pulled out the homing device, and crunched all three under his foot.

Wes & Gunn pulled Nathan out of the car, tied and blindfolded him, and put him in the trunk. Lindsey got behind the wheel, Lilah beside him. "See you all later. Thanks, guys."

Gunn got on the motorcycle behind Wes, who handed him the other helmet. "Man, you gotta be kidding! This is pink!"

"I'll buy another one. But Angel wore this one, so you can too. Put it on, Gunn, or I'm not starting the cycle." Gunn put the helmet on and they drove off.

Lindsey drove into the lot of the Hyperion, and he and Lilah carried the trembling Nathan into a room. Angelus joined them. As Lindsey removed the blindfold, Angelus went into vamp mode. "So you're the guy who's trying to take the Hyperion away from me."

"No, it's not my idea. The Senior Partners. . ."

"He blames everything on the Senior Partners. How convenient," Lilah mocked.

"Do you want to live, Nathan?" Lindsey asked. Nathan was trembling wildly as he nodded. "Stop the takeover of the Hyperion now." He produced a legal document that he and Lilah had drawn up. "Sign this here, here, and here." Angelus untied his hands and Nathan signed the papers.

"Are you going to let him live now?" Angelus asked.

Lilah & Lindsey shook their heads. "We lied." "After all, we're lawyers," added Lilah.

"Why don't we see if his wife would pay to get him back?" Lindsey said. He pulled out Nathan's cell phone and hit home. It automatically dialed his residence.

"Carolyn Reed."

"Hello, Mrs. Reed. We have your husband here, and we were wondering how much it would be worth to you to get him back." Lindsey listened intently, nodding, and then said, "Would you repeat that, please?" He held the phone out so that Nathan could hear.

"I'd make it much more worth your while if I didn't get him back as long as the body could be found so I could collect the insurance and inherit his estate. And frankly I don't care what you do to him as long as he's recognizable."

"Carolyn!" Nathan cried in anguish. "Help me, Carolyn."

"I'm sure that can be arranged, Mrs. Reed. I can give you a number of a Swiss account and you can make a ‘charitable donation' to the memory of your soon to be late husband."

"That will be quite acceptable. When should I notify the police that he's missing?"

"Tomorrow morning will be fine. I'll contact you with the account number first thing in the morning. Thank you, Mrs. Reed. It's been a pleasure doing business with you."

"I'll leave you two to your dinner," Angelus said, as he exited the room.

"Lilah, entertainment first, dinner later?"

"Sounds good to me, Lindsey." The two advanced on the shivering Nathan. As the others listened outside the door, his screams rent the air.

"Holland and the other lawyers didn't scream like that," Darla commented.

Eventually Nathan was completely drained, and the two former vice presidents of Wolfram and Hart let his body fall to the floor. "I guess we should take him out and dump him someplace where they'll find him," Lilah commented.

"The evening is still young, Lilah. Anything else you'd like to do?"

Lilah seized the moment. "Lindsey, you know that as much as I like Gunn, we don't have an awful lot in common out side of great sex and a love for AB positive."

"I'm not surprised. You need somebody you can talk to, not just somebody to go to bed with and hunt with."

As she started to move closer to Lindsey, he said, "You and Brett were pretty close, weren't you? Why don't we go pay him a visit? He'd be a nice addition to our family."

Lilah sighed inwardly. However, that was not a bad idea. She and Brett had had a hot relationship after Holland died. If she couldn't have Lindsey. . . "Sounds pretty good to me. I guess I should let Gunn know."

"Let's go. We'll dump the Rolls with Nathan's body and then go get Brett. You take your Jag and follow me. Maybe you should talk to Gunn first." Lindsey slung Nathan's body over his shoulder and carried it out to the Rolls. Lilah went out to the lobby where the rest of the family was relaxing.

"Gunn, can we talk for a minute?"

"Sure, Delilah. What's up?"

"Gunn, I've certainly enjoyed being with you, but I think there's someone I'd like to make a part of our family, and I'd like to take him as my new mate if you don't mind."

"Actually, Delilah, I was thinking the same thing. I've been thinking about Anne Steele, and I want to make her mine."

"The shelter girl? She's beautiful. I think you'd be a great couple." She kissed him passionately. "When are you going to do it?"

"Maybe tonight. I'll take Wes, ‘Delia, and Kate with me. She knows all of them and trusts them. It'll be a piece of cake."

"Good luck. See you later." She followed Lindsey out to the car and took off behind him in her Jag.

After they had left the Rolls with Nathan's body a few blocks from his house, they headed for Brett's apartment.   While Lindsey waited, she knocked at the door. Brett opened it, wearing his robe. "Lilah? Where have you been?"

"Oh, Brett, it's been so awful." She lowered her head and began to cry.

"Come on it, darling. I've been so worried." He held out her hand & asked led her in. Lindsey went downstairs and drove Lilah's Jag back to the Hyperion.

After an hour or so of great sex, Lilah felt fantastic. "Brett, I have a little surprise for you."

Looking at her naked body, he asked, "Where are you hiding it?"

"Right here." She went into vamp mode and, before he could react, she had drained him and had him drink from her. Then she closed the drapes, locked and deadbolted the door after putting out a note for the cleaning lady not to come, and cuddled next to him, waiting for him to rise.

There were only a few people in the shelter, and most of them were asleep. Anne was a little surprised to see Wes, Cordelia, & Kate with Gunn, but she invited them in, thinking that there was a message from Angel with some kind of problem. While Gunn drank Anne in her little bedroom off her office, the others made quick work of the sleeping teens. Then they locked it up with a "Temporarily Closed" sign on the door and went back to the Hyperion.

As everyone except for Gunn and Lilah gathered in the Hyperion, Angel smiled with satisfaction. His family was increasing very nicely. "So let's see. We have three older, more experienced vampires who know the ropes, three lawyers, a former watcher, our seer, and a former cop. Gunn and Anne are really street-wise. I'd say we have a long and happy future together."

"We really should organize, Angel."

"Spoken like a true lawyer, Lindsey. That's just what I was thinking. Something along the lines of the Corleone family. You'll be my consigliore. And I'm the Godfather, of course."

"Then I assume you have some plans, Angelus?" Wes was thinking ahead. "There are still only eleven of us."

"Yes, I do, and we have two Slayers out there. Some of us will be taking a trip to Sunnydale to round up our new members. We have to get them to join us or eliminate them, and I'm rather fond of some of them, especially Willow. Giles and Buffy are big threats, but they'd be even bigger assets. Lindsey, you, Lilah, and Brett will concentrate on getting Faith out of prison and ‘enlisting' her to our side. When Lilah & Gunn get back and get Brett and Anne settled, we'll make our plans."

"Anyone for a little dancing?" Cordelia asked. "Or a movie?"

"Sounds like fun. Angelus?" Darla held out her hand and he took it.

"Sure. The evening is still young. Let's go enjoy ourselves. Tonight, L.A. Tomorrow the world!" Laughing, the group followed Angel out into the night.
