Histologic features:

·         Nests of transitional epithelium (Brunn nests) grow downward into the lamina propria

·         Central epithelial cells develop a cuboidal or columnar epithelium lining

·         Intestinal metaplasia maybe

·         Cystic spaces lined by urothelium (cystitis cystica)
