Gross features:
- Enlarged mucosal folds in body/fundus
Histologic features:
- parietal cell hyperplasia (fundus / body)
- increase in size and number of parietal cells
- cystic dilation of fundic
glands with appearance similar to fundic gland
polyp
- serrated tongues protruding into lumen
- parietal cells as high as junction with foveolar epithelium
- endocrine cell hyperplasia
- mixed population of bacteria in lumen
- no foveolar hyperplasia
