Giant Cell Tumour of Tendon Sheath (GCT)
 
Epidemiology:
 
  - 20s to 40s (older
      than PVNS usually)
 
Common sites:
 
  - tendon sheaths
      along wrist and fingers
- spine
 
Gross features:
 
  - discrete nodule on
      a tendon sheath
- red-brown to
      mottled orange-yellow
- like a small
      walnut
- cortical erosion of
      adjacent bone in 15%
 
Histologic features:
 
  - polyhedral,
      moderate-sized tumour cells resembling synoviocytes
- solid nodular
      aggregate
- may be attached to
      synovium by a pedicle
- hemosiderin deposits
- foamy macrophages
- multinucleated
      giant cells
- zones of sclerosis
