Gross features:

Histologic features:

    • vessels:
      • some degree of lobulation often (large vessels with surrounding smaller vessels forming lobules)
      • lacking “erectile tissue” appearance
    • stroma:
      • less fibrous tissue than angiofibroma
    • lobular capillary hemangioma:
      • lobular architecture (large vessels with surrounding smaller vessels) (key feature)
      • may have marked cellularity and high mitotic activity
      • smooth muscle cells predominate
