Epidemiology:

of odontogenic tumour
- Children
- Teenagers
Common sites:
Gross features:
- miniature teeth
may be present (compound odontoma)
Histologic features:
- mixture of soft
and hard material
- extensive
depositions of enamel and dentin
- dentin looks like bone, but has many parallel
tubules running through it, quite close together.
- Enamel matrix
looks fishscales
- remnants of cells that
make the above
- pulp is loose
connective tissue with a peripheral layer which makes the dentin next to
it
- lined by odontoblasts – columnar cells
- reduced enamel
epithelium
- 2 layers of columnar
cells
