Bronchocentric Granulomatosis
Epidemiology:
Common sites:
Gross features:
Histologic features:
- lumen so flarge and medium-sized bronchi are heavily
infiltrated by inflammatory cells
- predominantly PMNs, plasma cells, and lymphocytes
- eosinophils may be abundant
- central necrosis
of exudates forms a granulomatous reaction
- often
obliterates the bronchial structure
- palisading histiocytes
at periphery of granuloma
- elastin may be helpful in detecting
fragmented bronchial elastic tissue next to artery
- isolated or degerating fungal hyphae
rarely
- arteries only
minor involvement
- CEP may be seen in
adjacent parenchyma

Molecular features:
Other features:
- pathologenically related to CEP and ABPA with
significant clinical, radiographic, and pathologic overlap
- asthma history
frequently
- most cases due to
hyp0ersensitivity to Aspergillus or other fungi
- patchy
consolidations on chest X-ray
