- papule(s)
- hard
- rough surface
- 0.2 to 2.0cm
Histologic features:
- marked
hyperkeratosis
- acanthosis
- papillomatosis
- columns of
parakeratosis overlying the papillomatous projections
- granular layer
thickened except at tips of papillae where it is attenuated
- coarse clumps of keratohyaline
granules
- inward turning of
elongated rete ridges at edge often
- large vacuolated
cells in the more superficial layers (koilocytes)
- small pyknotic nucleus
- not seen in older
lesions
- may see:
- basophilic nuclear
inclusions (viral inclusion bodies)
