- pyknotic nuclei

levels of epidermis
- focal vacuolar
interface change
- melanophages in the papillary and upper reticular
dermis
- perivascular lymphocytic
infiltrates in reticular dermis
- interstitial eosinophils
- bulllae, if present, are subepidermal
- occurs in areas
of severe vacuolar interface change
