- scalp
- face
- may be generalized
(associated with myasthenia gravis, BCC, SLE, alopecia)

- thin anastomosing
cords
- lobules extending
from hair follicle
- cells with squamoid
and basaloid features
- peripheral
palisading may be present
- foci of
keratinization may be present
- horn cyst formation
may be present
- abortive hair
follicles may be present
- scant and mildly
fibrotic stroma
- may be loose or densely
fibrotic
- occasionally
mucinous
- stromal-stromal
separation occasionally
- few mitoses
- low apoptotic rate
- no stromal
retraction
