Epidemiology:
Common sites:
Gross features:
- pre-existing nevus develops a surrounding rim of hypopigmentation
- gradual
disappearance of nevus over several months
- repigmentation of halo usually follows
Histologic features:
- nevus of any type
with dense lymphocytic
infiltrate
- lymphocytes
densely arranged, obscuring underlying melanocytic
lesion
- focal atypical nevus cells
