Endosalpingiosis
Epidemiology and Etiology:
- 7% of women of reproductive age
- Commonly found in association with ovarian
serous tumours
- ?implanted tubal epithelium
Common sites:
- Peritoneum
- Lymph nodes sometimes (pelvic, retroperitoneal)
Gross features:
- Small subserosal
nodules or no apparent gross lesion mostly
Histologic features:
- Benign, tubal-type epithelium
- Gland or cyst-like appearance (almost always)
- Blunt papillary projections
- Minor stratification maybe
- ABSENT endometrial-type stroma
