Botryoides
Common sites:
- Lateral walls of
the lower third
Gross features:
- polypoid or pedunculated
- usually < 4cm
- soft or rubbery
- gray-white
- covered by intact squamous epithelium
Histologic features:
- stroma may be loose or dense
- abundant blood
vessels
- half show atypical stromal cells:
- large nuclei
- pleomorphic nuclei
- occasionally multiple
nuclei
- may have prominent
nucleoli
- abundant cytoplasm
- rarely mitoses
