Pearl
Well I think the first time I ran into Jonathan was at the coffee shop at the end of high school. I think it was early in the spring. I was there with some of my girlfriends and I spotted Jonathan at a table with some other boys our age. Now, he went to another high school in the district so we didn’t really know each other. In fact we hadn’t even met. But I noticed him right away. He was the best looking one out of all the young men he was sitting with. My best friend Jane noticed that I was staring at him and she tried to get me to go talk to him. I was too shy to even smile at him from across the room, though. Then, I saw that he and his friends were getting ready to leave. I felt so disappointed. I really hoped that he would come over and talk to me. As the young men were leaving, Jonathan looked over at my friends and I, and all of a sudden he started to walk over! Well, I got so nervous I thought that I was going to faint. My friend Jane pushed me up out of my seat to force me to introduce myself to him, but instead I ended up bumping his arm and he spilled his hot chocolate all down the front of my blouse. I apologized but he was so kind that he immediately forgave me and helped me clean up a little. Then he left with his friends. As he was leaving he looked back and smiled and waved at us. I was too shy to look but Jane waved back. That was the last I saw of him for a little while. The next I saw him was in college. We both went to the community college in our town. I used to see him around campus all the time but I never got up the nerve to say anything to him. Then, in the spring, the first year French class organized a trip to France for two weeks. I signed up immediately because I had always wanted to see France. Well, as it turned out, Jonathan had signed up to go on the same trip. I was very excited. Not only was he handsome, but he was also interested in travelling and seeing France. This was the best thing that could have happened to me. We really got the chance to get to know each other on that trip. We ended up sitting next to each other on the plane ride, so I took the opportunity to introduce myself. I was too embarrassed to mention that we had met before so I kept that information to myself. We spent the whole trip together seeing all the sights and spending our free time together. He seemed a little shy at first but I finally got him to open up. One night, we snuck out of our hotel rooms and we went to the Eiffel Tower. We shared our first kiss under the Paris stars at the top of the tower. It was so romantic. When we got home, we spent all of our time together while we finished college. When we graduated, Jonathan asked me marry him and we moved into a cozy little apartment and we had our first son, Jonathan junior. I am so grateful that we both found ourselves on that trip to Paris or I might not have ever met the love of my life.

Pearl tells me that we first met at the Second Street Café when we were still in high school. I don’t remember her being there but I guess what she says is true. I remember the day I was at the coffee shop though. I was there with my buddies looking for girls as usual. We were getting’ ready to leave, when I spotted the finest lady I had ever seen. She was this tall blonde chick with the most amazing body, if you know what I mean. So as my boys and I were heading out, I decided to stop by her table and chat her up a little and see if I could get her number, you know. As I was walking towards the table, she was talking to some shy lookin’ mouse beside her. I hoped she’d stop talking by the time I got over there so she’d notice me. I hated how girls were always chatting so much. How could they possibly have that much to talk about? That blonde girl probably didn’t have a thought in her pretty, bleached head. But, as I got over to the table, the mousy brunette jumped up and I spilled my hot chocolate all over the front of her. Man, was I ticked off. Here I had the chance to chat up a hot lady and I spilled hot chocolate all over her goofy friend. Well, I helped the girl clean herself up a little; it did give me a chance to feel her up without her knowing if you know what I mean. I noticed that she had a pretty fine body herself, if only she didn’t look so scared all the time. I left after the girl apologized to me at least a million times, but as I was leaving I looked back at the blonde chick and gave her a little wink. She smiled and waved back at me. My friends congratulated me on picking up a totally hot chick. I remember meeting Pearl on the trip to Paris, though. I was taking first year French at the time, for who knows what reason. I was failing it pretty badly, but I wanted to pass because my old man’s French and he would be really disappointed if I failed it. So I asked my teacher what I could do to bring up my grades. She told me that if I wanted a passing grade I would have to do an extra assignment. I had to sign up for the trip to France and then write a report on all the things I learned there. I really didn’t want to go, but I thought a trip and a report would be better than failing, so I went. I sat next to Pearl on the plane. I recognized her a little but I couldn’t remember where from. I guess it was from the Café. After we got to know each other on the plane, she started following me around the whole trip. I guess she didn’t really know anyone else on the trip. It was all right, neither did I. One night, I told her to sneak out with me after lights-out in the hotel. I wanted to get her somewhere private so we could have a little fun, if you know what I mean. We ended up totally making out at the top of the Eiffel Tower. It was really great. Then we went back to my hotel room and had a little more fun, you know. After we got back from the trip, we started getting together on a regular basis. She ended up being a lot hotter than that blond girl in the coffee place. After we graduated, Pearl found out she was pregnant, so we got married and eight months later, there was little Jonathan junior. Pearl told all her friends that he was premature. I’m really glad I met Pearl. I just thought she’d be fun to have around for a little while, but I really got to be fond of her after a while. I guess you could say that I love her.
