++ I'm getting really tired of trying to email professor for a summer research jobs. Today I emailed my 20th prof. and so far I besically have nothing. It's just so frustrating, because first of all I really want to do this and I have a real interest in some of the researches. I guess even more important is the fact that I want to know how research really is, what if I don't like it? I need to now soon just so I can think of other options for things I can do when I graduate. Damn I just wish I got something, doesn't matter what.

++ Sorry for borrowing the title today, I actually stole from someone on biome that posted this and I just loved it. Well today wasn't a great day, but I guess it was the first day back from reading week, which there wasn't as muc reading done as I wish. Today I had a stupid Physics test which didn't go too well, we just didn't have enough time. For the first half of the course we usually had 1 hour to write 3 or 4 questions, which was resonable for that class. But this new prof. is crazy, he gave us 50 minutes to do 6 questions, which were just as long as Serbanescu's questions. Such a bummer, everyone was pretty much freaking out after the test. It was pretty brutal. One neat thing was a question that I had seen before when I was in high school. When I wrote the Leonardo da Vinci contest, there was a question about a boat with rocks inside. Then if you throw these rocks into the water what happens to the level of the water, does it rise, fall or stays the same? I always found that question pretty cool. Hopefully I was as convincing on my physics test as I was 3 years ago. Tomorrow I find out my Chem mark and possibly my Spanish mark. Chem is probably going to be shitty, class average is 60% apparently, pretty low in my opinion. Well I'll stop here and hope to be in a better mood next time I post. Have a good night everyone.

++ I'm back to Toronto. I actually got back a few days ago. So far I have done some studying but for some reason the fact that I don't have classes this week makes me be less productive. I guess there is not much in terms of pressure. Well last night Carlin and I went out for dinner to this really sweet restaurant. It was called "Serra", and it was an italian one. I ate Beef Carpaccio, which was sooooooooooooooooo good, with arugula salad on top. Carlin had a goat cheese salad which was also incredible. Then the main course was a delicious grilled chicken risotto, on a basil based sauce, with wild mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes. Everything was so good. Have I ever mentioned how much I love food? well I really do... Well I will go for now, just keep hoping for an early Xmas this year.

++ Going home today, finally some sort of rest, but not really. I have so much to do this reading week. I had such a hard week, and I'm so tired today. Well but I guess these are good news just like what I found out yesterday, Carlin won an NSERC. I could not believe that, she is a crazy one. I just wanted to say how proud I am of her and happy. Congratulation Carcar, you know what, I think you deserve every bit of it and it WASN'T luck, as you like to think... Well changing the subject back to chemistry, I think I found out why so many people weren't aware of the reaction of Potassium Permanganate in basic conditions being a hydroxylation. He didn't actually write it out, BASTARD. But I still like Dr. Dicks, but that was a sly move on his part. Oh I almost forgot, yesterday Carlin and I went to an Ethiopian restaurant, it was awesome.

++ Today I had an Organic Chemistry mid-term, and I had studied so hard for it. I screwed up as I was writting it. I got nervous after not getting the easiest Spectroscopy question, I was looking for a compound with 2 degrees of unsaturation and could not find one that fit the info. OBVIOUSLY, because it was a fully saturated substance. I'm pissed, because after that it was all downhill. I just hope for a 70 now, at least to make all my effort worth something. Now, tonight I have to work on a stupid report and pre-lab for tomorrow's 8:30 chem lab. As if having 3 hours of bio lab and a mid-term right before that helps. I feel like I'm very close to finding the LD50 for Org.Chem.

++ I'd like to wish my carlin a happy valentine's. I wish we didn't have such a busy week so that we could actually do something together :( ... but we'll live it up on friday ok? We'll eat some mexican food or anything picante.

++ Apparently the other day some lady had a baby on the subway, here on Wellesley station thats pretty crazy. Anyway, lately I've been pretty busy, well for most of the time. I actually went home this past weekend because Carlin and I wanted to take a little break from Toronto. We were actually considering switching schools hehehe. But that's over, after doing some research on that we came to our senses and saw that we really don't want to switch... Well also lately I've been working on a new website, I have joined a group of students called "UofT Students for Jamaica" and I am also their web designer. We are a group seeking to raise awareness through fundraising events to support people in impoverished parts of Jamaica. We are affiliated with another organization called "Students crossing borders". The website is still not completely done but I think soon I'll have a lot of it done so whoever is interested or just curious, please check it out. I will put a link to it on the side, and if anyone is interested in joining feel free to contact me.
