+ Hey everyone. I had my PSL exam yesterday, it was all right. It was actually not as hard as I thought it would be, although I didn't study it as much as I wish I did... I really needed to get an 85 yesterday to get the final mark I wanted, but I'm not sure if that is going to happen or not. I do sort of depend on some intervention. Yesterday I also met with the people from UPSA, and I summarized the comments from PSL302 for the anti-calendar next year. Now I have been studying for my next one, Chemistry. That one is probably going to be a big pain in the ass, but in the end I will never have to take chemistry ever again. Yesterday I also watched a new south park episode about towlie, but it was actually really stupid. It seems like the show is loosing a bit of its touch. Maybe the writers were just bored lately. The family guy episode was OK but nothing too special about it. I guess now its time to head back to the real stuff. Good luck everyone on their next exams.

+ Just wrote my BIO250 exam and it was pretty hard. The questions basically how much you memorized of little irrelevant charts and facts that have nothing to do understanding the material, which I would say is challanging enough. I'm pretty disapointed with this course and just hope to get a mark on mid to high 70's at this point. Lately I also started to modifying CIV4, for those that don't know what that is, CIV4 is a turn-based strategy game, the best probably, which you can go into XML files and change parametes and add things. Basically you can make the game the way you want it, with some knowledge of how it works. Its really sweet, and you can add civilizations, add units, religions, all sorts of things. However, I can't really spend too much time doing that now, because it's time to study. It eats so much time too, adding units is pretty tough, I haven't really been able to do all I wanted with that yet, I'm trying to add a polar bear that can be played as a soldier, maybe make a civ that has all animals or something. Anyway, time to go study, what a pain in the ...

+ ... ass, today I had no internet for a really long time and it took me forever to fix the problem. I was planning on doing some BIO notes today and then working on PSL. I ended up having to start my physics cheat sheet and not look at physiology at all. Now my new goal is to finish my BIO notes by tonight. Well anyway, this week has been pretty alright I guess, I really dislike these study weeks. I can't study as well when I have so much time available and at the same time I can't do anything else cause I would feel like I'm wasting time like that. I just can't wait for exams to be over, I hope I have a job by then, but we'll see. I don't really have much to say because I haven't done very much this week besides going home on the weekend and getting a lot of chocolate. I also learned how to prepare a new meal which is always a bonus.

+ I finally watched the remaining episodes of Season 1 of Lost, it was pretty awesome, but the season finalle was pretty unfulfilling. Fortunately Carlin downloaded the first episode of season 2 and we watched it to end our urge to know what happens next. It was a really good episode but as usual it only created more doubt. The people that write this show really know how to make you crazy to find out what happens next. But today I've been good, I am working pretty hard on my BIO notes and hoping to actually accomplish what I had planned to do. Today I am also going to Barrie to spend some time with the parents, I know I shouldn't because I have so much to do here but I really feel like it and sometimes I waste so much time here anyway that it probably won't matter. Also great news for those into video games, there is a new Will Wright game coming out this year (hopefully), it is called SPORE and it looks just amazing, I can't wait for it to come out. It is like 4 games in one. The central theme is evolution, basically you start off as a prokaryote and its like pac man at first, you eat little critter and get eaten by others. But then once some time passes you start to develop, so after so many generations you can change your critter a little, maybe add some structures, change something, until you become a multicelullar eukaryote. At that point the game becomes more interesting where you actually live in a certain environment with other species competing for food and all that stuff. After a lot of development your species starts to become more intelligent and forms tribes, so the game goes from just controlling one organism to a little tribe that you are in charge of. As you develop more, you can build tools, eventually weapons, then you will start finding other tribes of your own species or other developed species. At the end you can be so developed that you will have diplomacy, wars, trade and all that. Finally you can go on interstellar journeys, so you leave your planet into your solar system, out to different galaxies, where you explore and tries to find electromagnetic signs of life. When you find life in distant worlds you can communicate with them, they may be friendly or evil. In the later case you can launch a huge bomb and nuke the whole planet if you want or send troops to fight for the land. This game is going to be awesome, I can't wait.

+ I got my stupid test back and I made a huge mistake, and end up with a 77%, which I know shouldn't be a reason to complain but it was an easy test. Well tonight is the night I've been waiting for, there are two reasons for that. First of all, its the last day of classes so obviously that's good news, but mostly because Carlin is coming over tonight and we are going to watch all the remaining episodes of Lost. I was able to live my life normally for the past 5 days without watching the episodes I haven't seen, even though they are at a reaching distance from me. However, tonight I will attain freedom to watch it and I love it.

+ The title in no way describes the test I had yesterday, I was so pleased with my physics test, and if this isn't just a false sense of security I think I did really well on it, perhaps my best one this year. I guess that whole Sunday afternoon of work actually really paid off. Maybe it was just a gift from a higher power for containing myself from watching the rest of the first season of Lost. I mean this kind of self control is what separates people into categories. No I'm joking, but it was really hard. Today I've applied to a few jobs, I just want to get one of them so I know I have some source of income this summer, I really need some $$$ and I never got a lab job so I sort of really need to work. I would feel like a looser if I didn't do anything, plus I wouldn't have very much money which would only reaffirm the looser status at the end of next year.

+ Yesterday Carlin was here and we bought the DVD set for the first season of LOST. Well that could be seen as a huge mistake, considering very little in terms of school work was done after that. However, it was so much fun, this show is so addicting that's not even funny. We watched a good 8 hours of quality TV and it felt good... We still have a nother good 8 hours to go. We will resume watching it on thursday after Car's anthropology test, it will be like a celebration for being done with school. Man it feels good. Yesterday was my roomates birthday, so happy birthday Yang. Tomorrow I have a physics test so right now I'm posting this and after my plans are to get my ass to the library and actually study. Well I hope everyone has a good weekend.

+ Yesterday I became an exec of UPSA, the Physiology Student Union here at UofT. I am the new web site guy for them basically. Lately I've been applying to a bunch of different jobs for this summer, time is running and the jobs I applied a long time ago still haven't contacted me or anything. It's so annoying, I've never had this much trouble finding a job, first I applied to so many profs and there is only one more guy left which might be able to get me something, although I doubt it. I applied to a bunch of library jobs, the census phone line, a job at the parliament, Bombardier, and a few more. Well I guess its hard for everyone. Well I just have to keep trying, and not forget to study, specially when I have a test on Monday. Oh, by the way, people that are in PSL302 or have taken it, I was looking at the equivalent for 302 at Western and it was shocking. First of all they have tests that are all true and false, I basically laughed at the site of that. Basically no one CAN fail. The the questions are not even hard and you guys can imagine what the averages are like, pretty much above 84% every test. If you are an average students in that 200 student class, you should still have an A. Is that crazy or what? At UofT we kill ourselves in PSL302 and we have averages like 57% on an exam worth over 1/4 of our marks, which doesn't even get adjusted. Well I just wanted to share this with everyone and see what you guys think.
