++ After a 1 day weekend here I am back to work. That's because Saturday I was proctor for an exam that MDs have to take if they want to specialize in anaesthesiology. It started at 7:30 in the morning and I was very shocked with those people. There were about 50 MDs and the age probably varied between 30-40 but they acted like they were a bunch of grade niners. They were immature, couldn't follow simple orders, kept talking when they weren't supposed to and were extremely abnoxious. Obviously I'm generalizing everyone, the girls were slightly better, only a few were annoying but I dont think I saw one male doctor that I didn't feel like punching in the face. First, when we were trying to start the test we had to tell them to shut up several times cause they were all chatty. Then they kept comlaining about the no food or drink policies of the test, which we had nothing to do with but for some reason the bright minds couldn't grasp that we didn't make the test or the rules for that matter. Then they were supposed to be back at 12:45 to begin the test again for the second part. Well a couple of them didn't show until 1PM which caused everyone else in the room to have to wait for them, and obviously the late ones didn't see a problem in being 15 minutes late. The funny thing is that they asked us to only have 30 minutes for lunch so we could leave early and everyone in the room agreed, including us which didn't get a lunch if we agreed. anyway, so when the late people came back and we were hurrying them, guess what was their excuse? "30 minutes is not enough to eat." Anyway by the end we were pretty fed up with them, but it's over and the only problem now is to think that those people will be the ones in charge of taking care of others in the very near future. I dont' really understand what medical school look for in new doctors but I personally think they are looking for the wrong things, maybe cutting out anyone with less than 3.8 might not be the greatest idea based on the idiots I saw on that test saturday.

++ Well anyway, now today I'm going to start looking into some video cards but I think I already know what GPU I am probably going to pick up. I'm really in between a 8800 GTS (320Mb) if I really want to spend the extra money or just a ATI x1950 Pro if I feel a bit more economic. They are both a great upgrade for me but I'm still very undecided. Then tomorrow I'm going to take Carlin out for dinner with that extra cash from babysitting med students.

++ Work has just gotten a little more intense over the last little while. I guess because I am still doing a lot of experiments and all the writing part and the research are also piling up, it seem like I have much more work than I did a few weeks ago. Well besides that not much has been going on, Carlin is now working at an English camp for foreign kids. That takes all her time, meaning taking all our time together as well. But every once in a while she has a day off, like on wednesday. That day we went to see the new Harry Potter movie on iMax with Shri. It was great, the movie was very well done and they did a great job capturing the book. The 3D scenes were just stunning as well. Definately worth it. Soon the last Harry Potter book is coming out and Carlin is also extremely excited for that.
My cousins are also here in Canada, Marcelo and Andre came with their parents to visit Canada. That was a day that I realised how much Portuguese I've lost. I would forget certain words all the time in conversations. I really hope soon enough I won't do that in English anymore or I will just feel like I don't have a 1st language anymore. Oh, tomorrow I am working as well, I saw Dr. Duffin this week and he asked me if there was any way I would be able to help him supervise an exam for Medical Students, so that's what I will be doing tomorrow.
