Danny has become a ‘parking attendant’, for $11 dollars an hour. He goes to the parking lot at 5pm on most Mondays and Fridays to herd cars into a parking lot, until the quota for the day has been achieved. First he pulls out the cart of 5 heavy signs with arrows on them, and places them around the parking lot leading to the entrance.
Once that’s done, he returns the cart to the storage and grabs the orange flag and herd cars into the parking lot near the entrance driveway. After a some experience, he learnt that with enough eye contact and demanding-ness of motion, even cars that don’t want to park can be herded into the lot, which he finds very amusing. He also learnt that some people can be so stupid they actually drive up the sidewalk if he points towards the sidewalk. When the lot is full, he gets to stroll around the parking lot looking for extra space for more cars to park. Sometimes, just to squeeze the last bit of space, he has fun making cars park at awkward places:
His boss thought he was funny, and offered more flexible schedules for him. Danny now gets to choose when he goes to work. He thinks this job interesting.
Today he went to a sushi resturaunt with UTAMA. The otaku’s met at Sidney Smith hall, with some serious lack of organization. Attendance was taken by real names, not forum names, which left Danny almost clueless as to who’s really there. He also had to stand on his skateboard perpendicularly to see what’s going on.
After the march of the otaku’s across downtown, we arrived at a larger sushi restuarant compared to last time’s, called Masa Sushi. The sushi was good, but it was really slow. In the end most of the stuff they ordered here and there came all at once, which worried us since leftovers are charged extra.
Near the end of the dinner, Danny heard shuffling of cards at another table. He went there to attempt a magic trick, but it turned out the cards were really bad paper cards, bridge size. He almost failed the trick, but since he was so awesome, it turned out okay. After dinner, the some of the otaku’s loitered near the entrance (including Danny), discussing hair. Danny decided to cosplay as Itachi in Anime North next summer. Yuwing tried to use Danny’s skateboard, but failed, but was saved in time. However, Danny kinda regrets saving him, since it would’ve been an interesting picture.
Danny also learnt that Code Geass season 2 will not be out till next year, shattering his hope on the spot. =/
As he finished typing this blog, he remembered it’s Jenn sama’s birthday, and feels guilty for forgetting to send a present. He hopes she won’t mind a really late present, perhaps in a few weeks.
