About

Formally, I am a third-year Commerce student at the University of Toronto, currently undergoing my Specialist Program, Bachelor of Commerce (B.Comm). On top of that, I am also majoring in Actuarial Science (B.Sci) to complement my Commerce qualifications.

I have always been a proponent of meeting people and having a good conversation with them. I believe that by chatting with them, especially in a very informal manner, allows me to fully understand the person while opening myself up for companionship. Academic and career wise, I enjoy assisting people in achieving their goal because by doing so, I know that we can all sleep every night with a smile on our faces. I strongly believe that knowing that we all benefit together is better than me benefiting alone, and I am sure that everyone feels the same as I do. On this formal note, I believe that I can achieve this as being your Career Development Director.

On top of that, allow me to give you a lighter note about me. You should regularly see me around in Woodworth, Rotman and Robarts every now and then, either studying, eating or plain chatting. Sometimes I'm wearing glasses, sometimes I'm wearing contacts. I used to be short, but that was 15 years ago. I used to be thin, but I'd like to call it being fit & athletic (although many might beg to differ).

I came to Canada in August 2001... exactly 3 weeks before September 11. Great isn't it? My first job here was at Starbucks at Yonge/Davisville, and I had a wonderful time there. I learnt about the Canadian culture and the friendliness of the people here. Now, I am working for the Government of Ontario at Queens Park as a Media Analyst. I AM a full-time student just like you, may I note.

I am a big fan of sports such as hockey, basketball, soccer, tennis, badminton, football and swimming. On top of that, I'm a big supporter of computer and video games (I will go on a game marathon with anyone, trust me). Movies are a huge part of my life and music is an even larger part. Make sure you go to the Talent Show in March (see Important Dates)!!!

Other than those, I sincerely like to think that I am a regular guy who wants to meet and help. Being Career Development Director allows me to do this, and you reading this is already a great start.

I am Maurice and thank you for wanting to know me.
