Welcome!

My name is Michelle Kelly Schultz and I have a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Master of Information from the University of Toronto. I have academic library experience providing instruction and reference services, in a variety of mediums, to a culturally diverse client base ranging from undergraduate and graduate students to faculty and staff. I recently worked as a graduate student library assistant at the Map and Data Library and the Engineering and Computer Sciences Library, both at the University of Toronto. I am interested in academic librarianship and how to engage patrons through new technologies. I currently work as an Applied Science and Technology subject librarian at the University of Oxford.

Please see my CV for full details.

  • ArchBook Entry: Flaps
I co-authored this peer-reviewed article that discusses flaps in books, citing examples of books produced between 1543 and 1907 from a wide range of genres, including children's literature, geometry and anatomy textbooks, and landscaping treatises.

Research in progress

  • Quick Response (QR) Codes in Libraries and Museums: A Case Study
Submitted a paper on the results of my case study research to Library & Information Science Research for consideration. Presented a poster on the case study at the 8th Annual TRY (Toronto Ryerson York) Library Staff Conference and also created a blog to provide practical information for librarians on QR codes and to receive comments and questions regarding my research and QR codes in general.
