Michelle Xu is a
postdoctoral fellow working in the AMO physics group with Professor Holger Mueller at the University of California, Berkeley.
She completed her Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer
Engineering from the University of Toronto in June 2011. Under the supervision
of Professors Stewart Aitchison and Gilbert Walker,
she engineered diagnostic hand-held devices using nano-grating
surface plasmon sensors and nano-pillar
photonics crystal sensors to support the early detection of cancer biomarkers.
