I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Physics at the University of Toronto working under the supervision of Prof. Paul Kushner. I am interested in the large scale circulation of the atmosphere, and in particular in mechanisms that can provide predictability on extended-range timescales in the extratropics. These include stratosphere-troposphere coupling, the main focus of my Ph.D. thesis, and tropical-extratropical teleconnections. In November 2016, I will be taking up a NOAA Climate & Global Change Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Washington, working with Prof. Dargan Frierson on the interaction of clouds and circulation in the extratropics.
