NAILA KELETA MAE has been writing and performing her work for 17 years. She has worked and performed in Cape Town (South Africa), Cowansville, Johannesburg (South Africa), New York, Montreal, Ottawa, Peliriñho (Brazil), Toronto and Toulouse (France). She is presently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts Degree at York University and she has a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction from Concordia University (2000). In 2000 she founded a cultural production company called yah ga yah productions, under which she produced her debut album entitled Free Dome, which won the 2002 Urban Music Association of Canada’s award for Best Spoken Word Recording.
