Olli Saarela (statistician)

I am an assistant professor at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health of University of Toronto. I studied at the University of Helsinki. After obtaining my master's degree in 2004, I worked at the National Institute for Health and Welfare of Finland. Meanwhile I also pursued PhD studies and defended my thesis in 2010. I came to Canada for a postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health of McGill University, before joining University of Toronto in Summer 2014. My areas of interest include Bayesian inference, causal inference, epidemiological study designs, and survival and event history analysis.
