Heian shrine was near where I lived so I was able to get there the one morning where we had enough snow to be noticeable in a photograph. It was only built during the Meiji period (I believe), about 100 years ago.
The gigantic tori (the gate in the distance)
just south of Heian jinja.
West side of
the shrine. All the little white things
are fortunes that people didn’t like the result of. They tie them up so that the wind can whisk them away.
A woman in the
traditional clothing of the shrine.
Looking east
after a bit of a snowfall.
A row of sakura
(cherry blossom) trees.
Mom and dad.
