Pictures from trip to Kitamura (north of Kyoto) with Manabu.

Heading there we stopped at dam. I somehow took this fantastically “tourist” photo of my father. It’s the fact that it’s not exactly “scenic” that makes it such a class photo.

Then, if you check the larger version of the “lake” photo, you’ll see a bunch of ducks. Half of them are white, half are dark. Then there’s the little “house” on the lake. All this led me to think of little duck war games for some reason.

A classic old-style thatched roof. Kitamura is a town that features about 16 of these houses.

Manabu, my father and mother. All with their eyes closed as they check stuff out in the attic of one of the homes.

You can’t tell me that the pure symmetry of everyone walking about a hill isn’t worthy of being displayed…

Where we had lunch. As it was the spring, they didn’t actually use the fire place in the middle, but a nice traditional style Japanese meal non-the-less.
