I am a first year Master of Financial Economics who joined the program in August 2010. Prior to coming to the University of Toronto I completed a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Finance at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Originally I’m from Kelowna, BC and remain an avid Vancouver Canucks fan.

In my undergraduate degree I discovered a passion for finance and capital markets and became heavily involved in the field. At the University of Alberta I was lucky enough to be selected to the Program for Research and Investment Management Excellence (PRIME), an elite student-run investment fund that manages more than $1-million of the University’s endowment fund in a Canadian equities portfolio (see http://www.business.ualberta.ca/PRIME.aspx ). PRIME was an amazing opportunity that allowed me to get some hands-on experience and also meet some people that will remain life-long friends.

Aside from my education I also gained experience working two summer internships as a Trade Analyst for BP Canada Energy Company in Calgary. I worked on the Natural Gas trade floor in the market analytics group. I also worked for 6-months in Commercial Banking at CIBC as a part of a great team in Edmonton.

Thus far I’ve greatly enjoyed my time in Toronto and in the MFE program. I feel very honoured to have been selected for the program and will continue to look to do all I can to make it better. For my career I hope to pursue Sales and Trading and am looking forward to my upcoming summer internship. In my spare time I’m a big sports-fan and am an avid lacrosse player and recreational golfer.

I very much enjoy writing the Daily Roll and hope you’ll continue to read. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
