A Short Bio:

Martin received his Ph.D. in machine learning and computational biology in 2014 from the University of Toronto in Canada, under the supervisions of Profs. Quaid Morris and Willy Wong. Martin's Ph.D. thesis was focused on the computational prediction of microRNAs target genes. In addition to his machine learning Ph.D., Martin also holds a second Ph.D. (2009) in signal processing from the Carleton-Polytechnique Universities, under the supervision of Prof. Richard Dansereau where his thesis was focused on target audio signal recovery from a mixture of audio signals. Before joining the department of Computer Science at Stony Brook University, Martin was a postdoctoral fellow in Prof. Lincoln Stein's research team at the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (OICR). His main research at OICR involves cancer biomarker and drug target prediction using large-scale genomic data and pathway analysis.
