Textbook: The course will be based on the textbook Linear Algebra and Its Applications, 4th edition, by David C. Lay. You may use 3rd edition of the book as your reference text. However problem sets are different in the 4th edition. You can buy an online version of the book at http://www.coursesmart.com/9780321780218/ ; it is less expensive than a new hardcover book. The course material will be based, for the most part, upon chapters 1,2,3,5, and 6 of the textbook.

LYRYX: Computational exercises will be assigned through LYRYX Interactive Linear Algebra website. The highest score achieved will count as the grade for that lab, so you should repeat each lab until you get it perfectly correct. LYRYX Labs are due on Thursdays at midnight although students will be able to complete them a week earlier.

Final Exam: Mon., Apr. 29th, 5pm--8pm. Room: RAWC.

Quizzes: Quizzes are taken during your Friday PRA sections during weeks 2 through 11. Quiz #n will cover the material delivered in Week #n. You will be given 30 minutes to write the quiz. No aids will be allowed - no calculators. Students whose surnames begin with the letters A through M will write in IB110 and students whose surnames begin with the letters N through Z will write in IB120.

Quiz 4 of week 5 was canceled due to a snow storm. Consequently, the total number of quizzes for this course would be 8.
