IDRF provides
relief assistance to refugees and other victims of man- made chaos such
as wars and conflicts, or natural disasters such as floods, typhoons and
earthquakes. But the major focus of IDRF is development programs aimed
at poverty reduction, literacy, and healthcare, as a means of helping
families and communities equip themselves with the tools to overcome
barriers and become self-reliant and self-sufficient.
To address the recent devastating earthquake
in Pakistan & Kashmir, IDRF has launched a fundraising campaign to
restore the lives of the survivors. Apart from immediate relief, a huge
reconstruction effort is required to rebuild homes, roads, hospitals and
schools. When the tsunami hit Asia last year, IDRF had set a target of
$1,000,000 to help the survivors. Thanks to your support, the target was
met and your donations are now helping us in the reconstruction efforts
in the Aceh province of Indonesia. IDRF has set the same target to help
those who have barely survived the devastation brought by the
earthquake. We are confident that we will meet this target with your
help.
