GENERAL PICTURE OF THE COURSE:

"What does educational ministry mean?" Exploring the structure of educational theory, examining elements of the structure of educational theory, reflecting on the educational ministry in the church, weaving together other theories in history and the contemporary, we will vision our own educational ministry of the church in the future.

OBJECTIVES: At the end of the course students will be able to……
1. broadly acquire knowledge of the past and the present of educational theory and practice from the literatures.
2. critically reflect the educational ministry of the church.
3. begin to formulate one's own educational frame for the future educational ministry.
4. begin to articulate and explore one's own vocation as an educator in the context of ministry.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Read, Read, and Read! There will be at least two chapters assigned reading on each week from the reader.
2. A Vision Statement for Christian Education
3. Participating in a teaching section: As a group you will be expected to participate in a teaching section with a professor.
4. Active participation: Much of class time will be spent in discussion, experiential sharing and critics, and supporting each other for better practices. Active participation is greatly expected.
5. A lesson plan
6. Final Exam - take home
