Low Country Dancing -1952

This cartoon speaks to a historic event. Queen Elizabeth of England visiting Ceylon in 1952, a cultural show was being organized at the Regal Theatre.
But included was only Upcountry Dancing, with Low Country Dancing kept out. A relentless campaign to have it included by my father ending in success,
he himself was to perform and dazzle the Queen. The cartoon shows Sir Richard Aluvihare, the person in charge of the Queen’s visit, symbolically performing
a Kandyan dance, while the administrator N Q Dias, symbolically seeking to shut the door on the Low Country Dancer (representing my father and the cause).
