Tara Small

Welcome to my web page! I am a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto in the Edward S. Rogers Sr. Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the iQua and WHIMSIC research groups. I am working under the supervision of Profs. Ben Liang and Baochun Li. My current area of research involves mathematical modeling and optimization of multimedia streaming applications with network coding.

In August 2005, I received my Ph.D. from Cornell University in the Field of Applied Mathematics. My Ph.D. research focused on biological applications for sparse wireless networks, particularly data retrieval from radio tags on whales. I was supervised by Prof. Zygmunt Haas and was part of his Wireless Networks Laboratory.
