[Full Description:] Upon graduating from the University of Chicago in 1972, Prof. Joshua A. Fogel proceeded to Columbia University where he received a Masters in History in 1973, an East Asian Institute Certificate in 1975, and his Ph.D. in History in 1980. After teaching at Harvard and the University of California, Santa Barbara, Prof. Fogel now teaches at York University in Toronto where he is Canada Research Chair and Professor of History. His present research interests include a study of the Japanese community of Shanghai from 1862 through the end of the 19th century, a micro-study of the 1862 voyage of the Senzaimaru to Shanghai, and a comprehensive history of Sino-Japanese relations.

Committee members including undergraduates, graduates and distinguished faculty will be involved in the selection process. The school year has just newly begun for a month and we are actively seeking members to help us in putting together a new issue for ON EAST, volume II. We are looking for an undergraduate as well as a graduate editting committe, if you feel that you are qualified, please read the full details here. All applications will be admited on a first come first serve basis (within those candidates that are suitable for the role). Please hurry as spots are limited.
