Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Whom should I contact if I have a question or a problem?

Your TA will be happy to help if you need guidance with respect to essay writing, studying for tests, preparing for tutorials and so on. In general, extension requests for term papers can be made through your own TA, but you will still be required to provide your TA with appropriate documentation. If you are unable to write an exam or if you have some other concern relating to course administration, you should contact the Head TA (Debra Thompson).

  2. How do I use Turnitin?

You need to create a user profile with turnitin.com in order to upload your work to their website. Since late penalties will accrue until you have submitted a hardcopy of your paper AND sent an electronic copy to turnitin, you are advised to create an account with turnitin well in advance of course deadlines. For instructions on creating an account with turnitin, please visit the website at Turnitin or read the Turnitin Guide For Students (.pdf) prepared by the Office of Teaching Advancement at the University of Toronto.

To sign-up to upload papers for this course, you will need the course ID and the course password.

    Course ID: 1598379
Password: Ontario [NB: the password is case-sensitive]

  3. How do I submit my paper?

Papers must be submitted in hard copy to your TA as well as through Turnitin. Papers will not be graded until and unless they are submitted to Turnitin. Late papers are to be submitted to the Political Science office.

  4. Where can I get the assignment?

Contact Professor Wiseman to obtain the essay topics.
