Name

My full name in Chinese characters is "曾未非", in which my surname "Zeng" is "曾". My given name "未非" has some very subtle meaning in Chinese. Both characters carry the meaning of denial or negation in Chinese. Together they form a double negation.

Sports

Football (Association football, or Soccer in America) is my favorite sport. I was a school team member in Raffles Junior College and I participated in the Inter-Junior College Football Tournament in Singapore. After I came to Toronto, I play football almost every week, either in some casual games or in the Socool Soccer League. The positions I usually play are Right(left)-midfielder, Attacking midfielder or winger.

I started to play and watch football games and have been a die-hard AC Milan fan since the early 90's. I also follow most of the world football news, mainly through websites like www.goal.com.

Besides football, I like cross-country or long-distance running. Occasionally, I also practice basketball, badminton or table-tennis. On the other hand, I primarily commute by bike in Toronto, since I don't usually have to leave the downtown area.

Computing

Currently I mainly work on my laptop : Dell m1330, T9300, 4GB memory and 320GB storage. I think it is good balance of mobility and performance.

I use Ubuntu linux as my primary computing environment. Ubuntu 6.06LTS worked very stably for me and I hope the latest LTS version 8.04 can be just as good.

Opera is my favorite and primary browser. I am impressed with many of its default features, resource efficiency and above all, its fast page rendering. With the enhanced compatibility of recent versions of opera, I believe it is an excellent choice for those who are tired of IE's cumbersomeness and Firefox's memory hassles.

Vim(Vi IMproved) has been my favorite editor, which I used for editing almost everything. It takes a bit of time to adapt to it, but it's truly efficient, light-weight and feature-rich. I am not getting myself into this editor war, since I never used Emacs, nor am I thinking of using it anytime. After years of using Vim, I am trying to moved to its GUI version Gvim, although I still feel much more comfortable working with Vim in terminals.

Other Interests

Some other interests of mine:
