Cytokinesis is the final act of the cell cycle when two new cells are generated each with a complete copy of the genome. Failure to correctly execute any stage of cytokinesis leads to genome instability and aneuploidy, hallmarks of over 90% of tumours. Our goal is to understand the underlying molecular principles that ensure successful cell division to maintain a stable genome.
