Zefu Dai was born in a small village in south of China, where he spent his childhood playing with mud, enjoying a variety of fruits, beautiful river and easy-going village people. He later went to Hunan province to attend the National University of Defense Technology, where he received his Bachelor Degree on Computer Science and Master Degree on Electrical Science and Technology.

In 2008, he won a scholarship from China Scholarship Council, which helped him go to the University of Toronto in Canada for PhD study. His current research interests are efficient memory system designs, high speed internet switch achitecture and FPGA stuff.
