Research Interests:

1. “Green” chemicals with biological activities from woody plants.
2. Wood and bark chemistry, conversion and utilization.
3. Adhesives (PMDI, PF, MUF, and UF) and biocomposites: synthesis, performance and durability.
4. Modification of wood and wood fibre.

Current research:

1. Bark bio-refinery: bark chemistry, utilization and conversion.
2. Bio-active components in wood and bark extractives.
3. Chemical modification of lignins from steam-explosion and enzymatic hydrolysis of wood in producing bioethanol.
