MODULE 3.4 - Nesting

Nesting specifies the order of the search. It is required when a search contains two or more different connectors. Brackets are used to group related keywords, connected by OR. The computer searches for the nested keywords first.

Here are some examples:

(hybrid OR electric) AND (honda OR toyota)

(movies OR films) AND (cartoon OR animation)

(teenagers OR adolescents) AND (substance abuses NOT alcohol)
