About Global Education Initiative

There has been a recent emphasis on global citizenship within the education system. Awareness of the world we live in, its vastness and diversity of people is certainly an important part of this. The Global Education Initiative is a series of related projects which aim to bring such awareness to high school students, and encourage them to develop an interest in the globe and humanity during the critical teenage years when their core identity is being shaped.

We help schools in Toronto and GTA enrich their curriculum by providing resources such as movies and documentaries, speakers, classroom presentations and workshops, and information for student groups regarding charities and NGOs with an international focus on environmental and social equity issues.

This project is run by a dedicated group of students from University of Toronto, York University and Ryerson University. We have received funding from University of Toronto Dean's Student Initiative Fund.
