Here are the girls on day 34.
Madeline was on 28% to 31% O2 most of the day but Bev turned her up to 33% just after we got there. Her stomach wasn't as bad as last week but it's still giving her trouble. Maureen her physio has set up a set of exercises for the nurses to get her doing to improve her abdominal muscles which will help to clear away the air that's built up in her belly. It'll also help with her other abdominal functions...if you know what we mean!
Yes she is looking awfully pale. Her blood count is okay and she's up to 995gm so it's really just a case of her not being as far along as her sister, yet. Apart from the pressure it puts on her skull the cap she wears for the CPAP is also flattening her ears pretty badly. Lauren her night nurse found a slightly larger cap for her that may relieve the pressure somewhat but she'll probably need one with ear holes soon if she's to avoid permanently flat ears!
Back from the flu Mike gets to hold his "Secret Squirrel" with the chubby cheeks. She's up to 2.032Kg now.
Look back at some of the other photos of her and her Dad's hand and you can see how far she's come.
Isn't she pretty in her OUAC sleeper?
It even has a hood to keep her head warm but no feet so her legs can pop on out of there. She's really growing now so sleepers with feet in them sometimes don't fit her!
Back in her bed after Mum got to bathe and hold her as well.
Goodnight Maddy.
