Top phones of the year 2007

* iPhone ($500)
* AT&T Tilt ($450)
* Nokia n 95 ($600)
* Microsoft Zune ($250)
* Sony Ericsson W580i ($200)

What's in common? They aren't cheap, well that's obvious since they are all top market phones. But something else strikes me is that, all the cell phones this days are all becoming more and more multipurpose; the mounted camera are getting finer pixels, screen resolution are getting better, more functionalities are implemented, and all the blue tooth, GPS, and WiFi stuff are crammed into that tiny gadget, but how is the phone signal? The main purpose of a cellphone is to make a simple call and easy to carry, what is good about a cellphone that is so inconvenient when making a call?

Like the iPod, so cool that it has only a touch wheel, but is it really that simple to get the music start? Yes it looks cool and can play different kinda stuff, but it is not going to last, it was too large and inconvenient to navigate. Last Christmas my parents bought one and returned it the day after because they just cannot get the music going in a few tries. Therefore think about all the cellphones in their situation...

Perhaps in the next three years all the digital cameras will be replaced by the cell phones, and every cellphone will have tons of functionality, but the one that will become most popular will be the one that have the most convenient call function and durability. Ofcourse the phone will also have all the other functions like digital camera and nice screen resolution, since following the trend is a huge bonus, too large to leave it out. But when people really wanna watch a movie or something, they will still want a large screen instead of looking at a tiny screen on a bumpy ride.

Today the site is finally in operation !!!

During the past two days, I fixed a number of things including:

- Getting the page loading scripts to work under IE and Safari...

- Fixing the flash intro, such that the buttons suggest crossing gesture, now feel free to break those bars...

- Created the "sites" profile, though no linkage for the thumbnails due to privacy issues... There should be more stuff under my portfolio, so I'll add them as time goes, because many of my old projects are still in a mess, or some where in my system.

- Was gonna do the background music, but then there are many reasons against this feature, such as loading time for people with slow connection, and user having to listen to the same song over and over again. So I will not implement this feature until I can find a way to randomly generate songs and reduce the music file sizes without reducing quality.

- Modified the position and the way photos are displayed in the Album section, so that when an thumbnail is clicked, only the large photo is shown, also discover a small error on my dtd file, which took me 2 hours to find, but I found it so that's a taboo.

- Wrote some stuff on the notes section, but the notes there are usability related stuff, probably gonna implement a different function for it in the future, like a guest book or something...

- There seems to be a loading problem, such that it loads slowly on some browsers, even though it's really fast on my computer, but I have to check it and make sure on another machine when I have the chance.

- This blog is new, so it lacks many content, since a good website requires many useful contents I'll have to start populating it... Recall the last blog I had there were over 500 posts on it, so here I goes again...
