Case Summary

Diagnosis:  Polycystic Disease


Clinical hints:

This familial disease often also involves the liver and pancreas . Renal changes are variable but progressive. Forme frustes possible, but progressive renal failure the rule. Need renal transplant.


Radiological Pearls:
  • large poorly outlined kidneys
     
  • multiple renal cysts on U/S
     
  • may be liver and pancreas cysts
     
  • IVP, U/S, and CT used
