Case Summary

Diagnosis:  Goodpasture's Syndrome


Clinical hints:

The patient did have pneumonia which improved with treatment. His dropping hematocrit and hematuria prompted tests for anti-glomerular membrane antibodies. A kidney biopsy confirmed the diagnosis.


Radiological Pearls:
  • lung hemorrhage, presents as
     
  • patchy/diffuse air-space changes
     
  • no nodules, cavities, or effusions
     
  • Wegener's gran. part of DDx
