Research Project:

Market and Institutional Structures, Economic Welfare and the Global Competitiveness of the Canadian Forest Industry

The main objectives of the research are:

(i) to develop an understanding of markets and institutional structures, which includes government policies related to different forest products;

 

(ii) to examine the impact on the economic wellbeing of Canadians and the forest industry of market structures and relevant government policies, and

 

(iii) to evaluate global competitiveness vis-à-vis other countries of different sectors of the Canadian forest industry and selected provinces.

Economic deficits are what we borrow from each other; ecological deficits are what we take from future generations
