About Me

I joined the lab in 2013 following many years of experience in the McPherson and Laposa labs in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. I have an MSc in Cell and Molecular Biology from the Department of Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto and a BSc in Biology from the University of Waterloo. My research background includes using a broad range of molecular techniques for characterizing gene knock-out mouse models of cancer and developmental diseases.

In addition to doing research, I enjoy working with and mentoring students of all academic levels: I’ve run several phD learning modules to teach the technique of immunofluoresence to phD candidates in our Department; and I’ve acted as a mentor four times for the University of Toronto Mentorship Program which gives high school students with outstanding potential the opportunity to participate in research programs across the University.
